In the fight for equitable funding through Foundation Aid, Port Chester School District affiliates took an artistic twist on getting students involved with the advocacy.

Students across the district were invited to submit original artwork that illustrated school pride or love for the Village. After 82 students from the elementary schools entered pieces, Port Chester Mayor Richard Falanka, Assemblyman Steve Otis and State Senator Shelley Mayer selected two winners: Park Avenue School fifth-grader Jazlyn Flores and King Street School fourth-grader Gianna Sirena.

Visitors were encouraged to signed postcards as the came through the event, and the next day 100 of them were delivered to Albany.
