Myrie Holds Resource Fair in Brownsville Senior Center

 More than 100 seniors turned out to a NYCHA senior center in Brownsville on Tuesday to get help with housing and health care, State Sen. Zellnor Myrie's office said.

 

"Up in Albany, we spend a great deal of time discussing major policy reforms and challenges that face our whole state, but if we can't help the people in our district with their day-to-day problems, then none of that matters," Myrie— who represents Brownsville, Crown Heights and other adjacent neighborhoods— said in a statement.

"No senior should face housing insecurity, but we know that in Central Brooklyn, all too many do," he said. "Along with so many other issues, I'm heartened we were able to deliver services and guidance to seniors who struggle with housing insecurity in our community."
