Gov. Kathy Hochul signed new legislation on Wednesday to support and honor Holocaust survivors.
The plan will make sure schools are properly teaching students about the Holocaust. It will also require museums to give credit to the artwork that was stolen during the Holocaust.
"I don't want the citizens in my state to live in fear ever, ever,” she said. "So we will take action in any way, any form and be tough about it."
Hochul also announced $10 million will be given to local communities so they can help combat white supremacy and domestic terrorism.
