Great Neck 14-Year-Old Organizes Pro-Roe V. Wade Women's Rally
Alyssa Wong is only 14 years old but the Great Neck South High School student organized a rally this weekend that saw students, civic groups and local politicians come together for her Women's Rights Rally.
On Sunday, Wong and fellow students gathered to express support for abortion rights and to oppose the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade by the U.S. Supreme Court.
"It's really scary that they're just able to take away these rights," Wong told News 12.
State Senator Anna Kaplan and Assemblywoman Gina L. Silitti were also on hand.
"The future is certainly bright! Congratulations to all the young people who worked so hard to put this Women’s empowerment rally together. Alyssa Wong at only 14 years old had a vision for this event and it exceeded every expectation," Silitti wrote on Facebook.
