Walkout Ceremony honors the 37-year career of Staten Island native NYPD Inspector

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Friends, family, and fellow police officers clapped and cheered as Inspector Robert Brower made bittersweet strides down the steps of the 121 Precinct in Graniteville, saying goodbye to his 37 years of service in the New York City Police Department.

On Friday, July 14, over 100 people gathered at the precinct at noon for a luncheon and Walkout Ceremony to commemorate the leadership and companionship and the overall impact Brower made throughout his career.

“He will be missed here,” Lieutenant Rafet Amad, who has worked with Brower for over 15 years, said of the inspector.

To honor his years of service and devotion to New York City’s safety, Brower was also given recognition from the offices of Assemblyman Michael Tannousis, Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton and District Attorney Michael McMahon.

Before the ceremony formally began, Community Liaison Vanesa Limani of Scarcella-Spanton’s office presented Brower with a Certificate of Recognition.
