Senator distributes 150 backpacks to Port Jervis school kids

With children returning to the classroom last week, State Senator James Skoufis and his staff gave away 150 backpacks.
The backpacks filled with school supplies for the kids and families in the Port Jervis area.
Attending the event on Wednesday, September 4 at Orange Square Veterans Park were Port Jervis Mayor Dominic Cicalese, Port Jervis 3rd Ward Councilman Jeff Rhoades, and Port Jervis Schools Superintendent Dr. John Bell.
The children were thrilled to receive the school supplies.
This is the second annual backpack event sponsored by the senator’s office.
