STATEN ISLAND, NY – State Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton has announced a $10,000 funding allocation to PS 78 in Stapleton to help create a new reading garden for students.

The initiative aims to provide an outdoor space where children can engage with literature and the natural environment.

“PS 78 fosters strong ties and provides a supportive environment for students. I am proud to bring this resource to the school for the community,” said Senator Scarcella-Spanton. “I cannot wait to see the positive impact the reading garden will have on students.”

“As a mom of two kids who go to public school, and as the daughter of two teachers, I truly understand the role education plays in guiding our future leaders,” she added.
