‘It’s common sense’: A grassroots push for ferry link between Staten Island and Brooklyn
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- For many, a direct connection from Staten Island to Brooklyn that bypasses having to cross the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge via car or bus would be a great option for traveling between the two boroughs.
The ferry supporters have also gotten an array of local elected officials in their corner, including Borough President Vito Fossella, Councilwoman Kamillah Hanks (D-North Shore), Assemblyman Charles Fall (D-North Shore/Battery Park) and State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton (D-North Shore/Brooklyn), among others.
