NYC Mayor Adams touts no in-school shooting despite series of nearby gun incidents on Staten Island
CITY HALL — Mayor Eric Adams touted his administration’s work on youth violence Tuesday despite a series of high-profile gun incidents around Staten Island public schools in recent weeks.
Despite city efforts, Staten Island elected officials gathered outside St. George Criminal Court Monday to call for more action to address school violence.
State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton (D-North Shore/South Brooklyn), Borough President Vito Fossella and District Attorney Michael McMahon asked for more to be done following the series of Staten Island incidents.
