On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m., I will be hosting my Small Business Symposium in Harlem.
There will be support and advice given by a number of government agencies, small business experts in the field, and advocates.
In a time when we are paying particular attention to displacement, accelerated gentrification, and expansion by private entities into community spaces, I am particularly concerned with addressing the added stress placed on our local small businesses. We are presenting this Annual Small Business Symposium alongside the Department of Labor and in conjunction with community partners such as: the Harlem Community Development Corporation, New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF), NYS Workers Compensation Board (WCB), NYS Department of State (DOS), and NYS Empire State Development (ESD)
