Residents decry lack of U.S. Postal Service collection boxes in this Staten Island ZIP code

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Residents of an entire Staten Island ZIP code are without a single U.S. Postal Service (USPS) collection box, and a local civic group led calls for change Thursday.
The Port Richmond North Shore Alliance civic group held a press conference outside the Port Richmond Avenue Post Office decrying the lack of USPS collection boxes in the 10302 ZIP code, part of a growing trend.
Lily Zafaranloo, community affairs director for Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island/South Brooklyn), joined Thusday’s Port Richmond press conference along with Assemblyman Sam Pirozzolo (R-Mid-Island); and representatives from the offices of Borough President Vito Fossella and State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton (D-North Shore/South Brooklyn).
