Senator Young Appointed to Chair Agriculture Committee

State Senator Cathy Young (R-I,C, Olean) was recently appointed to Chair the Senate Agriculture Committee.
After being officially sworn into office on Monday, May 16, Senator Young was named to the post by Senate Majority Leader Joseph L. Bruno
Senator Young said: "To be appointed to the Senate’s Agriculture committee is a great honor. Growing up on a third generation dairy and crop farm, I’ve been acutely aware of the issues and concerns facing the farming community. Working hand in hand with the leaders of our State’s agricultural industries, I’m optimistic that we will continue to strive towards improving New York’s agricultural heritage."
In addition to Chairing the Agriculture Committee, Senator Young will also serve as a member of the Senate Aging Committee, Environmental Conservation Committee, Higher Education Committee, Housing, Construction & Community Development Committee, Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities Committee and the Social Services, Children & Families Committee.
