Larkin Announces Funding For Local Police

Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) today announced he has secured state grants for several local town and village police departments.

"Our communities are safer because of the hard work our local police officers do every day," said Senator Larkin. "They focus their resources and efforts on getting the results our communities want -- less crime and fewer victims on our roads. I will continue to do everything I can to make sure the resources are in place for our local law enforcement to build on their successes."

Senator Larkin secured the following grants:

Village of Montgomery Police Department -- $40,000 for a vehicle for day-to-day operations, as well as a trailer radar with a display sign the flashes the speed to motorists in school zones and other streets in the village where children are known to play in the road.

Village of Maybrook Police Department -- $25,000 for the purchase of a new patrol vehicle.

Town of Woodbury Police Department -- $22,000 toward the purchase of safety and rescue equipment for the Raid Entry and Containment Team (REACT). The Team combines forces with Woodbury, Harriman and the Village of Monroe Police Departments.
