Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) has secured funding to assist several local towns’ highway departments.
"I am pleased to have been in a position to advance these grants to our local towns," said Senator Larkin. "Our area highway departments work hard to preserve the integrity of our roads and highways, and the safety of our residents. This funding will help them continue to maintain the safety and mobility of drivers in Orange and Ulster Counties."
The Town of Monroe Highway Department has received $75,000 toward the purchase of a new emergency snow removal truck to be fitted with a plow wing sander and four-wheel drive.
The Town of Montgomery Highway Department has been awarded $50,000 for the purchase of a new single axle dump truck with snow plow capabilities.
The Town of Woodbury Highway Department has been awarded $100,000 toward the purchase of new trucks to replace its fleet of aging vehicles, some of which are over 17-years-old.
The Town of Lloyd Highway Department has been awarded $50,000 toward the cost of repairs associated with the collapse of the slope along Bellevue Road.
