Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) and Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) have a friendly wager riding on the outcome of this weekend’s Class AA State championship high school football game between the Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders and the Webster Thomas Titans. Senator Larkin is wagering a bushel of Hudson Valley Pears and Senator Nozzolio has anted up a bushel of Webster Apples.
Senator Larkin said, "We’re all looking forward to an exciting contest between two great teams. But even though Mike Nozzolio is a friend and a great senator, I think I’ll be enjoying those delicious Webster apples on Sunday night. Go, Crusaders!"
Senator Nozzolio responded, "After defeating the previously unbeaten and powerful Christian Brothers Academy of Syracuse 34-21 last Saturday, the Webster Thomas Football team is headed to the Class AA State football championship, and I look forward to cheering the Titans onto victory. Webster Thomas enters the game with a perfect 12-0 record and I am very confident that they will keep their winning streak alive and prove that they are the best football team in New York State."
The championship game is this Sunday, November 27, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. at the Syracuse Carrier Dome.
