The Humane Society of Livingston County will be able to continue with its mission of preventing cat and dog overpopulation, thanks to a $5,000 grant obtained by State Senator Cathy Young (R,I,C - Olean). The funding will enable continuation of the Humane Society’s spay and neuter program.
"I have long been a supporter of the Humane Society and their mission to keep our pets healthy and safe," Senator Young said. "This funding will allow the Humane Society to successfully continue on with that goal."
"This is a much-needed program to help assist county residents with the veterinarian costs associated with the sterilization of their pets," said Susan Bartholomew, President of the Humane Society of Livingston County. "With Senator Young’s financial assistance, HSLC’s desire to help reduce the overwhelming overpopulation of unwanted animals will be aided. The Humane Society is very grateful for Senator Young’s help and concern."
