“The Bronxville Women’s Club is one of our area’s greatest treasures and I’m proud to sponsor its application for listing on the New York State Register of Historic Places. Particularly now during Women’s History Month, it is important to recognize the great history and contributions those who came before us have made to our society,” said Klein. “With this application, we recognize the achievements of the past, and the work which we need to continue to do to preserve that rich history for future generations.”
Barbara Covell, President of the Bronxville Woman’s Club added, “We are very grateful for all of Senator Klein’s assistance in helping us move towards our ultimate goal of securing this important piece of Bronxville’s history. It is important to identify important parts of our history for preservation so we never lose sight of where we came from and what we have achieved.”
Senator Klein visited the Women’s Club in conjunction with the opening of an exhibit at the Club paying tribute to their contribution to the community as part of Women’s History Month. The application will now be submitted to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, a process which can take several weeks to be completed.
