State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, was on hand for a special celebration honoring Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center upon being named a recipient of the prestigious Magnet Award for Excellence in Nursing Services by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The designation, which is held by only 215 hospitals in the U.S., is the result of a rigorous evaluation that included extensive interviews and reviews of nursing services, clinical outcomes and patient care.
"I commend Good Samaritan Hospital and their nursing staff who go above and beyond each and every day to deliver quality nursing care to the patients they serve," said Senator Johnson. "We are fortunate to have a hospital with staff of such high caliber serving our communities."
Senator Johnson presented the hospital with a New York State Senate proclamation congratulating them on the occasion of receiving the Magnet designation. Senator Johnson is pictured at the celebration with Good Samaritan Hospital President and CEO Richard Murphy; Senior Vice President of Nursing, Patricia Hogan, R.N.; and the Good Samaritan Hospital nursing staff.
