State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, recently attended the Francis S. Gabreski Cadet Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol’s "Return to the Armory Ceremony," which was held at the Patchogue Armory. While there, the Senator presented the squadron with a check for $50,000, which represents a state grant that he secured for the group to help defray their operational expenses.
The Civil Air Patrol is the Official Civilian Auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. Their threefold mission is aerospace education, leadership training and emergency services. Senator Johnson is pictured presenting the check to Squadron Commander Major Louis P. Fenech, Jr., (center) and LI Group Commander Lieutenant Colonel Norman Greenberg (right).
