Senator Johnson Visits Adelante Of Suffolk County

State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee recently visited Adelante of Suffolk County in Brentwood where he had the chance to meet with staff and the people who are served in Adelante’s many programs. Adelante of Suffolk County started out as a concerned group of local Hispanic citizens who realized a need for a stronger cultural presence. Today, Adelante is an active provider of vital services throughout the community, operating a nutrition program for the elderly, family and youth service, the Seeds of Change program, a drop-in center, life skills program, vocational training, a youth leadership program, supported housing, housing and tenant services, computer skills program, educational and career counseling and a center for minority teacher development and training.
