After his most recent appeal on behalf of the Purple Heart Stamp, Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) is pleased to announce that he has been informed by the United States Postal Service that the 39-cent issue of the Purple Heart Stamp will be available in your local post offices after May 27, 2006.
"This is fantastic news for our veterans, their families, and the everyday American citizen," said Senator Larkin. "I am extremely pleased that the authorities at the United States Postal Service will make the Purple Heart Stamp available again this month. It will continue be circulated throughout the world and we will use it proudly as a reminder of the price of freedom in this great country."
The Purple Heart Stamp was originally issued on May 30, 2003 to honor the sacrifices of members of the United States Military Services who have been killed or wounded in action.
