Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) today announced he has secured funding for several area highway departments.
"Local highway departments work side-by-side with area police, ambulance and fire districts," said Senator Larkin. "The coordination of all these emergency services takes a great deal of resources. With winter storms looming, crews will be working around the clock maintaining the roads in our communities for public safety and for residents. I am very pleased to have been able to assist our highway departments with their important needs."
Senator Larkin has secured a $50,000 grant for the Village of Monroe for the purchase of a new highway truck.
The Town of Woodbury has been awarded $50,000 for the much needed replacement of aging equipment.
The Town of Montgomery has received $24,500 for the purchase of a natural gas generator in times of power outages.
