Making good on the bet he made with Senator Michael Nozzolio of Fayette, New York, Senator Bill Larkin today presented Senator Nozzolio with a t-shirt, mug, and baseball hat from the Orange County Choppers.
This is the second time in back-to-back years that the senators have made a friendly wager on the state Class AA championship football game since schools in their districts have now faced each other in the final game two years in a row. Auburn stunned Monroe-Woodbury 27-26 in overtime for the 2006 title.
Senator Larkin reminded Senator Nozzolio that Monroe-Woodbury won the state championship last year by beating Webster High School and vowed to back the student athletes with another wager in the future. "This was a heartbreaking loss for our kids this year, but I know they’ll be back stronger than ever next year," said Senator Larkin.
