State Senator Catharine Young (R,I,C - Olean) today announced that she was included on the New York State Farm Bureau’s listing of Legislators included on their annual "Circle of Friends" list.
The award is provided based upon an individual lawmaker’s record of support for New York agriculture and the Farm Bureau.

"This award is reserved for those state Legislators, such as Senator Young, who had superior voting records on issues and showed strong support for New York agriculture during the 2007 state legislative session," said John Lincoln, President of the NY Farm Bureau. "We are pleased, however, to provide the "Circle of Friends" designation to Senator Young as a way to show our sincere appreciation for the Senator’s hard work on behalf of agriculture in New York State."

According to the Farm Bureau, each member of the Farm Bureau "Circle of Friends" has demonstrated an understanding of the important issues impacting farmers and the considerable impact the industry has upon the our economy and quality of life.

"I am honored to be considered within the Farm Bureau’s ‘Circle of Friends,’ said Senator Young. As the Chair of the State Senate’s Agriculture Committee, this year’s legislative session proved to be a challenging one, but by implementing programs such as the Agri-tourism grant program, the Dairy Investment Act and the Lake Erie Research and Extension Lab agriculture will continue to be one of New York’s most important industries."

New York Farm Bureau, the state’s largest general farm advocacy organization, works closely with the State legislature to strengthen and enhance the agricultural industry in New York State.
