BRONX-As part of his ever expanding support of the arts Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) successfully secured funds to help subsidize the “First Fridays” program at the magnificent Bartow-Pell Mansion in Pelham Bay. The program will offer live music and refreshments for visitors, and is timed to coincide with the free Bronx Trolley route which stops at sites of interest. Senator Klein presented a check for $1,800 at the Bartow-Pell Mansion’s first ever Harvest Festival which featured pumpkin carving and decorating, face painting, corn-husk crafts, and ghost story telling. A life-long history buff, Klein was particularly pleased to be able support such an outstanding institution in an effort to better educate visitors about the history of the Bronx.
