Senator Malcolm Smith Announces Revisions To Qm16 Bus Route

State Senator Malcolm A. Smith (D-Queens) today announced that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority has revised stops on the QM16 bus route, which provides peak period express bus service along Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Cross Bay Boulevard, between, Rockaway Park, Queens and Midtown Manhattan.
The entire QM16 fleet has been replaced with new, high-capacity and high- customer amenity express buses.
"I am pleased that MTA Bus, which now operates the QM16 route, has seen fit to extend the route. With these new buses, my constitents will have better service and a more comfortable ride to Manhattan," Senator Smith said.
The extension will take effect September 4, 2007.
The end of the route will be extended from Beach 116th Street on Rockaway Boulevard to Neponsit. The change will provide direct peak period express bus access to the residential community along Rockaway Beach Boulevard between 116th Street and 147th Street.
Boarding locations to Midtown for QM16 along Rockaway Beach Boulevard will be at 147th Street, 141st Street, 135th Street, 127th Street, 122nd Street and 115th Street. Drop-off locations to Neponsit will be at 122nd Street, 126th Street, 135th Street, 141st Street, and 147th Street.
