Senator Johnson Honored By Sagtikos Manor Historical Society

State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, is shown accepting a symbolic key to the Sagtikos Manor from Nancy Donohue -- President of the Sagtikos Manor Historical Society -- at a special cocktail party that was recently held on the Manor’s grounds. Senator Johnson was honored by the Historical Society for his continued efforts to help restore the historic Manors House and grounds to their original splendor. Most recently, the Senator secured $250,000 for structural improvements to the Manor which included projects such as painting the outside of the manor; the installation of new fencing and the rebuilding of porches.
Other community members honored by the Historical Society for their efforts to preserve the Manor included Suffolk County Treasurer Angie Carpenter; Greater Bay Shore/Brightwaters Chamber of Commerce President, Donna Periconi and Bay Shore School District Superintendent Dr. Evelyn Blose Holman.
