State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, recently paid a visit to the offices of the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition (BBCC) where he had the chance to view the new displays that the Coalition unveiled to help promote their services. Senator Johnson this year secured $50,000 in funding for the BBCC’s patient services and educational programs, as well as their community outreach efforts. Part of this funding was used to purchase these displays.
"The Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition has done an excellent job in serving our community and I am confident that this funding will help further their mission to the benefit of those who’ve been touched by breast cancer," said Senator Johnson.
BBCC has been serving area residents since it was founded in 1993 by community activists who were concerned with the high incidence of breast cancer on Long Island. BBCC’S mission is to provide prevention, research, education, services and support to those at risk for, and suffering from breast cancer. They achieve their mission through providing a variety of programs and services throughout the community.
