West Babylon Student Earns Prestigious SUNY Chancellor's Award

State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, recently had the honor of meeting Jason Callahan of West Babylon in his Albany legislative office. Callahan, a student at Suffolk Community College, was honored recently with the prestigious SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence.
Mr. Callahan traveled to Albany to accept his award at a special ceremony held by Chancellor Ryan at the Empire State Plaza. Callahan was one of 283 SUNY campus students statewide to receive the high honor which is reserved for students who earn a grade point average of at least a 3.7 and have a record of significant contribution to their campus and local community.
Senator Johnson congratulated Mr. Callahan on his achievement and wished him well in his future endeavors.
