Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) today announced he has secured a $20,000 state grant for Braeside Children’s Camp.
Funding will be used for necessary repairs, renovations and equipment purchases at the camp.
"I am very pleased to have been able to advocate for this funding on behalf of Braeside Camp," said Senator Larkin. "Each summer, this organization gives children a wonderful camp experience, an experience they might not otherwise have. I fully support the work of Braeside’s dedicated counselors and board members. They are truly making a difference in so many young people’s lives."
Janet English, a member of Braeside Camp’s Board of Directors, said, "The camp brings such joy to the lives of these children, a time of happiness they will remember all their lives."
The not-for-profit summer camp located in Middletown serves underprivileged children ages 7-11 in Orange County. Braeside hosts 160 sleep-away campers and 60 day-campers each summer. Children who qualify based on economic need are eligible to attend the camp for free.
