Larkin Announces Local Environmental Protection Fund Grants

Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) today announced several Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) grants for Hudson Valley organizations that will assist with waterfront revitalization projects, historic preservation efforts, expanding open space, and increasing access to public lands.
"I believe that ours is one of the most scenic and exceptionally beautiful areas of the state," said Senator Larkin. "For those of us who live in Orange and Ulster Counties, we can appreciate this effort to maintain our most precious natural resources knowing that the unique charm of the Hudson Valley is being continually preserved. These funds will help to maintain, enhance, protect and preserve our the natural, cultural and historic resources that we value so dearly."
Awards were made to the following:
Historical Society of Newburgh Bay and the Highlands - $135,120
Hudson River Maritime Museum - $235,810
Scenic Hudson Land Trust, Inc. - $200,000
Bardavon 1869 Opera House - $500,000
TRANSART & Cultural Services, Inc. - $240,000
