The New York State Senate has passed legislation (S.3435) sponsored by Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) that would authorize the creation of the Pine Bush Area Public Library District.
The new district would encompass the entire Town of Crawford and that part of the Town of Shawangunk that lies within the Pine Bush Central School District.
"Creating a new library district will provide more flexibility for the financing of the Town of Crawford Free Library and the preparation of its annual budget," said Senator Larkin.
The legislation is supported by the Towns of Crawford and Shawangunk and the Town of Crawford Free Library.
The bill was sent to the Assembly.
