Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) today announced he has successfully secured state grants for Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. and Golden Hill Health Care Center in Kingston.

"I am very pleased to have been in a position to advocate for these state grants on behalf of Hospice and Golden Hill," said Senator Larkin. "It is especially satisfying knowing that this funding will be used to directly serve the patients and residents of these excellent facilities."

The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh has received $25,000 toward the operational expenses of the facility. The residence was opened to patients in August 2006 and since that time has provided care for more than 35 patients.

The Golden Hill Health Care Center has received $12,000 toward the purchase of a special needs van for the purpose of transporting wheelchair-bound residents of the nursing home to medical appointments as well as to social outings and community events.
