Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) today announced state funding from the Renew and Rebuild New York Transportation Bond Act of 2005 will be delivered to two area airports.
"This funding will support much needed infrastructure and security projects at both the Orange County Airport and the Kingston-Ulster Airport," said Senator Larkin. "They are good investments for our region’s aviation industry."
The Orange County Airport will receive $1.106 million for water and sewer improvements as well as new access controls, gates, CCTV and lighting.
The Kingston-Ulster Airport will receive $30,000 for upgrades to its monitored security and fire alarm system.
The $2.9 billion Rebuild and Renew New York Transportation Bond Act is part of the Department of Transportation's overall five-year, $17.9 billion capital program that will fund improvements to New York's multi-modal transportation system through 2010. Bond Act funding is still available for State Fiscal Years 2008-2009 and 2009-2010.
