Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) has secured a $105,000 state grant for the Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center located in the City of Newburgh.
The funding will be put toward the design and construction of a new state-of-the-art facility for the Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center, a federally qualified health center and state licensed diagnostic and treatment center serving more than 16,000 patients and their families.
The new larger facility would provide enhanced treatment space, expansion of Ob/GYN services, greater care facilities for HIV / AIDS patients, expanded space for sub-specialty care, and space for ancillary services including pharmacy, laboratory and radiology.
"This is a very important project for the City of Newburgh and surrounding areas," said Senator Larkin. "I am very pleased to have been able to work for this grant in the state budget. It will help support the work of the dedicated staff at the Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center and make a significant difference in the way they will be able to deliver health care services to the residents of our region."
Linda Muller, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center, said, "For more than 40 years our health center has provided critically needed primary health care to people in Newburgh and Eastern Orange County. For most of that time we have had to do so in very congested conditions.
