Senator Young Announces 20,000 in funding for Jamestown Audubon Center and Sanctuary

The Jamestown Audubon Center and Sanctuary will be receiving funds to repair the handicapped-accessible trails and overlook platform thanks to a $20,000 grant obtained by State Senator Catharine Young (R,I,C- Olean).

The Audubon Center and Sanctuary is comprised of five miles of trails within its 600 acres. Several organizations such as ASPIRE and The Resource Center take advantage of the grounds which accomodates people with disabilities. For the last twelve years, the Audubon has maintained a .6 mile trail and a 100 foot overlook platform, specifically built so that those with limited mobility can enjoy the beautiful scenery and nature programs.

"The repairs that will be made to the handicapped-accessible trail and overlook platform will help people with disabilities and their families better enjoy the Audubon Center and Sanctuary," said Senator Young. "This funding will ensure that all individuals may continue to visit the Audubon and enjoy the scenic trails, breathtaking views, and exciting nature programs."
