Klein Visits NYBG Gardening Classes
BRONX-Every year for nearly a decade Senator Jeff Klein has sponsored free gardening classes at the famed New York Botanical Garden for residents of the 34th senate district. A strong believer in green spaces and urban plant life, Klein has made it a priority to provide state funding for a variety of classes on topics ranging from A Tropical New York Paradise to Containerized Trees, all of which are taught by experts in horticulture. This past Saturday, Klein dropped by his class on Shady Gardens and took a few minutes to flex his green thumb and plant some onion bulbs with a neighboring children's class.
"As global warming accelerates we need to take better advantage of our natural resources. Gardening classes are a great way to relax and give back to the Earth. New Yorkers live such fast paced live that the simple pleasure of home grown vegetables become that much more precious. I'm proud to sponsor these wonderful classes and look forward to doing so for many years to come," said Senator Klein.
