Jeffrey D. Klein

April 17, 2008

BRONX-Under a cloudless sky, Senator Jeff Klein gathered with his colleagues in government and ebullient members of Westchester Square Hospital to celebrate the saving of the hospital from the Berger Commission's closing threat. Cries of joy could be heard amidst the thundering applause as elected officials testified to the endearing and enduring quality of the hospital. Klein, who had recently lost his father, spoke movingly about how he wished he father had lived his last days in the care of a community hospital like Westchester Square.

Dr. Nisi, President of the Board of Directors, and Alan Kopman, President of the Hospital presented Klein and other elected officials with honorary lab coats, signed by the grateful doctors and nurses of Westchester Square. Afterwards, the group was lead on a special tour of the hospital where they had an opportunity to meet with patients and hear their personal stories.
