NYC School Governance Task Force Kicks-Off
Malcolm A. Smith
August 4, 2008
(New York, NY) The Senate Democrat-sponsored Task Force created to compile testimonies regarding the public school governance statute set to expire in June 2009. The Task Force has invited parents and educators to provide input to assist the State Senate Democratic Conference in proposing legislation that will improve the educational system. Since the 2002 statute was adopted authorizing the Mayor to have sole control of vital decision making issues, parents have been disgruntled with having little to no input themselves.
