Queens, NY – State Senate Minority Leader Malcolm A. Smith (D-Queens) announced today that he will host a job fair this month to help Queens residents learn more about available employment opportunities with various businesses.

"In this day and age, it’s important to use all the resources at your disposal when looking to land a good job," Senator Smith said. "Attending a job fair allows you to meet face-to-face with representatives of a variety of companies with jobs ready to be filled. Never underestimate the value of face time with recruiters."

The job fair, which will feature more than a dozen employers, will be held Friday, March 14 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Harvest Room, 90-40 160th Street, Jamaica.

A partial list of companies scheduled to participate in the event include: Samaritan Village, WAMU, Prudential, the Fire Department of New York, Health Plus, Enterprise, Time Warner Cable, and the Council for Airport Opportunity.

"Career fairs are a great way to identify job opportunities and develop interview skills," Senator Smith said. "I urge you to talk to as many people as you can."
