Senator Smith Announces Committee Chairmanships

(Albany, NY) Senator Malcolm A. Smith today announced Committee Chairmanships.

"Each of the senators I'm appointing today brings a breadth of experience and expertise that will help plot a new course for the State Senate and reform the way business is done in Albany," said Senator Smith. "I am pleased to work side by side with such talented and dedicated public servants in the new Senate Majority."

Senator Bill Stachowski will serve as Deputy Majority Leader for Legislative Operations.

Senator Neil Breslin will Chair the Senate Committee on Insurance.

Senator Toby Ann Stavisky will Chair the Senate Committee on Higher Education.

Each of these Chairmanships has a $12, 500 allowance for the member.
