State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, recently presented New York State Senate citations to members of North Babylon Girl Scout Troop #3766’s for achieving the Gold Award.
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award that a Girl Scout age 14-18 may earn. In order to achieve this distinction, a Girl Scout must show leadership skills, organizational skills, and display a sense of community and commitment while organizing a project that fulfills a need in the community.
“It is wonderful to see so many young, talented women working together to better their community,” said Senator Johnson. “I am very proud to meet the members of Girl Scout Troop #3766 as this is such a remarkable achievement. In ‘Going for the Gold,' these girls have all made a positive difference.”
