State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D/WF – 35th District) announced today that OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. of Melville, New York will locate part of its operations in the former Perdue Pharma complex in the Village of Ardsley within the Town of Greenburgh.

‘This is an exciting economic opportunity for the residents and businesses of our region,” stated Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins.  “The need for quality jobs is at an all-time high and we welcome OSI Pharmaceuticals with open arms to boost the economic vitality of our local community.”

Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins said that OSI Pharmaceuticals specializes in the discovery and development of innovative molecular targeted therapies that address significant unmet medical needs.  OSI has a team of approximately 500 research and development, regulatory, sales, marketing, commercial, and business professionals headquartered on Long Island, but also with facilities in Colorado, New Jersey and the United Kingdom.

Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner stated, “This is a perfect example of how the State, County, Town and School District successfully worked together to bring this new business to our region.  It will create more job opportunities for our residents, increase our tax base, and stimulate our economy.  This is truly a win-win for all of us.”

New York Empire State Development Corporation will provide OSI with the incentive of reimbursing the company for their lease costs to SUNY at Farmingdale until the property is subleased.

“I am pleased to work with the  Governor, as well as with Empire State Development Corporation in the efforts to attract flourishing businesses to our region.  I am especially pleased OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has decided to expand its operations into Greenburgh,” concluded Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins.
