Buffalo, NY- New York State Senator Antoine M. Thompson (D-Parts of Erie & Niagara Counties) will be holding a press event shortly before the clean water hearing is set to begin. The press event will take place tomorrow morning at the Erie County Historical Society at 25 Nottingham Terrace at 10:45 am.
“We must protect New Yorkers’ health by improving water’s infrastructure, drinkability and treatment. This set of public hearings will identify ways of accomplishing these tasks,” stated Thompson.
Senator Thompson will be discussing the upcoming hearings and what he hopes to accomplish by hosting them throughtout the State. This hearing will examine different issue areas that are a growing problem of concern and a direct threat to the health and safety of the citizens of this State. They include sewage treatment, drinking water quality, wastewater infrastructure funding, storm water infrastructure, availability of adequate supplies of fresh water, pharmaceuticals in the water supply and beach closings.
