Senator Thompson to Hold Annual Pvt. David Evans, Jr. Courage Scholarship Awards Program

Buffalo, NY - New York State Senator Antoine M. Thompson (D-parts of Erie and Niagara Counties) announced that he will hold his Annual PVT. David Evans, Jr. Courage Scholarship Awards Program Saturday June 27, 2009 at 2 pm at the Frank E. Merriweather, Jr. Library, 1324 Jefferson Avenue in the City of Buffalo.

The award honors the life of Private Evans who was an intern for Thompson when he served as Masten District Councilman. Private Evans died in 2003 while serving his tour of duty in Iraq during “Operation Enduring Freedom” at the early age of 18.

“This scholarship provides financial assistance to area students.”, stated Senator Thompson.
