Senator Thompson To Hold MWBE Recognition Reception

Buffalo, NY- New York State Senator Antoine M. Thompson (D-Parts of Erie & Niagara Counties) will be holding a Minority and Women Business Enterprise Recognition Reception on Thursday, November 19, 2009  from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at 65 Court Street Buffalo, NY 14202.

“As the Upstate Co-Chair on the MWBE Taskforce, it is important to get together and recognize those that have businesses that are thriving and that continue to maximize their opportunities to promote sustainability,” stated Senator Thompson.

Senator Thompson will be honoring ten Minority and Women Business Owners from Western New York.  The awards recipients are as follows:

Outstanding African American Business – Ms. Sundra Ryce, SLR Contracting & Service Company, Inc.
Outstanding Woman Owned Business – Ms. Jan Malof, Interior Solutions of WNY LLC
Outstanding Hispanic Business – Mr. Lou Santiago, State Farm Insurance
Outstanding Asian Business – Ms. Joan Yang, Rand & Jones Enterprise Co.
Outstanding Native American Business – Mr. Thomas Saia, Iroquois Bar Corp.
Outstanding Community Partner – Ms. Brenda McDuffie, Buffalo Urban League
Outstanding Government Partner – Mr. Gerald McDuffie, Empire State Development Corp.
Outstanding MWBE Supplier – Mr. Kenneth Johnson, Jay Tech Associates
Outstanding Retailer – Mr. Ahmed Salea, Mandela Markets
2009 Most Innovative MWBE – Mr. Richard Blanc, Renavatio Physical Therapy, P.C.
