Senator Thompson Sponsors 8th Annual Job Fair "Providing opportunities for White Collar, Blue Collar and Green Jobs"

Buffalo, NY- Today, May 22, 2009, NYS Senator Antoine M. Thompson (D-Parts of Erie & Niagara Counties), sponsored his 8th Annual Employment Opportunity Fair from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Buffalo Employment and Training Center located at 77 Goodell Street.

Close to one hundred people came out to find employment opportunities or for assistance in writing resumes, dressing for success and the opportunity to sign up for technical support classes.

“Many people are in need of jobs right now and this job fair is a great way to connect the community with various employment opportunities,” said Senator Thompson.

This year’s job fair included in excess of thirty employers and five hundred job openings.  Employment categories ranged from fields such as: healthcare, higher education, collections, green industry, contracting, cleaning, summer jobs, Mayor’s summer youth, customer service, compliance, civil service, banking, media, federal jobs, state jobs, vocational, union prep, community based, legal and food service.
