“Maintaining and improving our state’s infrastructure is vital to the economic growth we need to emerge from this downturn a stronger New York. As signs of improvement in our economy are beginning to emerge, now is not the time for the governor to walk away from a commitment we secured last May to fund road and bridge projects in Upstate New York.
“While the financial constraints we face as a state make a full five-year plan without federal funding nearly impossible, it is critical that the governor recognize the need for an investment in priority projects for Upstate New York. We must develop a real and workable plan that will best use our limited resources, recognizing the importance of our infrastructure to our state’s lasting economic growth.”
