Senator Valesky Joins Attorney General Andrew Cuomo in Announcing Arrests in CNY Narcotics Sweep

SYRACUSE, N.Y.—State Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida) today joined New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo in the announcement of narcotics trafficking charges being filed against 24 individuals who are alleged to have been involved in drug distribution networks in and around Central New York.

“I would like to thank the Attorney General and our dedicated law enforcement personnel, who go  to great lengths to rid our communities of drugs and crime,” Senator Valesky, Vice President Pro-Tempore of the Senate, said. “By combining forces and sharing tools, the city of Syracuse and communities in at least three other counties are a safer place today.”

The investigation, known as “Operation Trump,” was conducted by the Attorney General’s Organized Crime Task Force, assisted by the New York State Police, Syracuse Police Department, Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, and several other law enforcement agencies.

The investigation is part of Attorney General Cuomo’s ongoing efforts to combat narcotics trafficking and other crimes through his Upstate Guns, Gangs, and Drugs Initiative. More than 4.5 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of approximately $320,000 was seized, along with two handguns, a car and nearly $10,000 in cash.
