Sen. Schneiderman’s Statement On The Murder Of Dr. George Tiller
Eric T. Schneiderman
May 31, 2009
"The murder of Dr. George Tiller is an unconscionable tragedy. As one of the authors of the 1999 law that shields doctors, clinics and patients from violence and intimidation, and a former clinic escort, I am deeply concerned about the safety of reproductive health care providers and the women and families they serve. To honor Dr. Tiller, we have to do absolutely everything we can to protect people who work in family-planning clinics from this kind of heinous violence."
